Is FamilySearch better than ancestry?
Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org are both great online family history services. The main difference, of course, is that FamilySearch.org is free with (largely) free access to records (records from Fold3.com being the notable exception).
Is FamilySearch a safe site?
The documents on FamilySearch are (almost entirely) official state/national/church records. They are as reliable as you can get. The user-created trees are just that: user-created, and likely full of errors.
Is ancestry com free for LDS members?
Free memberships to Ancestry® are available to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over 99% of the 33,000 collections on Ancestry are available with the Church of Jesus Christ-Ancestry Membership.
