When filing an Application for Divorce, the Court charges a filing fee, which is currently $930.
Who pays for divorce in Canada?
Additional court fees of $420 are paid before the divorce is reviewed by the court. Court fees may be paid by cash, cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance. If you are unable to pay the court fees, you may qualify for a fee waiver.
How can a husband avoid alimony?
If the husband can prove that he has no source of income, alimony can be avoided. If the husband is remarried and has a new wife to take care of, alimony can be avoided. If the wife remarries, she will not be entitled to alimony but the dependent and or minor children if any continue to get the allowance.
