Only one player needs to buy the full version of A Way Out. The second player will need to download the free trial and then both can play the game together. Firstly, Player One with the game chooses the Play Online option, and then the option to Invite A Friend.
Is a way out hard?
A Way Out is not really the hard-hitting, serious, emotional tale of two convicts escaping prison it appears to be. At times, it successfully strikes those notes, but extreme tonal shifts, gimmicky QTEs, and a terrible finale kill almost any emotion or tension contained in the game.

This isn’t an open world game – in fact, it’s rather linear — but A Way Out gives both players the freedom to talk with other characters and progress at their own pace most of the time. Is a Way Out Online only?
You can choose between playing A Way Out as a couch co-op, or you can play online. If you play online, you’ll be able to get a Friend version of the game. That means one of you will have to own a copy, then the other can download a free online-only Friend Pass to play along.

In this mission you’ll pick a weapon for use later in the game. There are 4 weapons to choose from, and each player must have a different weapon. Additionally, there will be one spot during one of the Vengeance missions where you’ll have the option to switch weapons if you like.

If I remember correctly, on PS4 it had an extremely limited number of disc copies made. So stores have upped the price because it’s somewhat rare.
