Do I get paid while I am at Job Corps? Throughout your training, you will receive a bi-weekly basic living allowance. As your training progresses, your living allowance will increase. After you graduate, Job Corps can help you get started on your journey with a transition allowance.
What age does Job Corps stop?
16 to 24 years old. 16 to 24-year-olds ready to work toward a successful future are welcome. The maximum age limit may be waived if the applicant is a person with a documented disability.
How much does Job Corps pay students every 2 weeks?
The living allowance (i.e., pay) is based on stay duration (e.g., up to 56 days is $25/pay period or two weeks, 57-112 days is $30/pay period, 113-182 is $40/pay period and 183+ days at $50/pay period).
Can you go home on weekends in Job Corps?
Job Corps staff members will assess each student’s ability to have a weekend pass away from the center. If a student has disciplinary problems or has failed an important assignment, his weekend privileges may be taken away. Strong performers may be granted permission to leave for the entire weekend.
How much does Job Corps pay their students?
Money: a living allowance New and readmitted students receive arrival pay in the amount of a $25. After that, the amount of your base pay depends on the number of days you are eligible for payment. For days 1-182, you receive $25 every two weeks. After 183 days, pay is increased to $35.
Do you have to wear uniform at Job Corps?
We do not require a specific uniform for students. You are responsible for providing your own clothes, but we have a clear set of expectations for student dress and personal appearance. Also, we expect our students to dress appropriately for their chosen career training fields.
Can you go back to Job Corps after leaving?
If you were terminated for something like being an embarassment to the center, constantly failing on your room scores or not progressing to satisfaction in classes then you may be eligible to return to Job Corps one year from the date of your termination.

What kind of training does Job Corps offer?
Job Corps offers a basic Electrical program and an Electrical Trainee, Pre-Apprentice program through Home Builders Institute (HBI). All training programs are hands-on and are similar in curriculum and requirements.
