No,it isn’t rude. i know they might act rude but it really helps if someone asks them cause every person needs someone in there life to ask about how they feel. Take the “hey” out of it and it won’t seem rude. Just askjng someone if the are ok is completely appropriate.

Be relaxed and friendly when asking if someone is okay. Open up with the usual “How are you going?” or “What’s been happening?”. If they don’t seem to open up, it’s fine to let them know you’re concerned about them and that you care about them.

Clearly state the reason you want to meet. If possible, be specific. “I have something to say” and “I needed to talk about something” does not work. You don’t have to be too specific though. I am available from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday, and from on Thursday and Friday.
