Schools are provided with additional money to provide support for children with SEN, this is called their delegated budget. There are 2 stages of support for meeting the needs of children with SEN: Additional SEN Support and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
Do you need a diagnosis for an IEP?
While a medical diagnosis does not automatically qualify a child for special education and an IEP, as a general rule, it is important to communicate with your school regarding any medical diagnoses that your child has received. There are no specific educational disability classifications under Section 504.
Can a student get an IEP for anxiety?
Students with anxiety may require an Individualized Education Program (IEP) if they require Specially Designed Instruction and/or Related Services to address the anxiety. If a student’s needs can be met with only accommodations, a Section 504 Agreement can be implemented.

Can IEP go away?
If the school wants to completely remove your child’s special education classification, it must first reevaluate your child. The school must look at all your child’s areas of need to see if any qualify under IDEA. And it must do this before taking away your child’s IEP.
